Children’s Director

We are looking for someone who can oversee the ministry to our children from Kindergarten to 4th Grade. We need someone who can connect with and teach children, but also has a good working-relationship with parents and adult volunteers. This is a part-time role on our staff, but there is an immense amount of impact that can be made!

Job Description

  • Coordinate the overall children’s ministry
  • Oversee Children’s Life Group classes (1st – 4th Grade)
    • Select & Train Life Group Teachers
    • Select Life Group Curriculum
    • Help coordinate check-in and check-out each Sunday morning
    • Coordinate substitutes for Life Group teachers
  • Oversee Warehouse Worship during the Sermon time (1st – 4th Grade)
    • Organize a team of volunteers to help teach and engage kids on their level
    • Select content that will engage kids on their level each week
  • Oversee the Wednesday night program for HFBC Kids (K – 4th Grade)
    • Organize a team of volunteers
    • Set visions and pick content for each Wednesday Night
  • Plan special children’s events
    • Fall Festival
    • Vacation Bible School
    • Possibly others as well
  • Organize and supervise children’s ministry volunteers
    • This is an important part of this job. Organization and communication with volunteers is one of the most important traits needed to be successful.
  • Provide sexual misconduct prevention training for volunteers
    • Work alongside our Ministry Assistant (Charity Ryan) to make sure that volunteers are properly screened
  • Develop and oversee the children’s ministry budget

Hours

On a normal week, this job should be about 20 hours of work. Some weeks (especially around special events), the number of hours will fluctuate. Because Wednesday Night & Sunday morning are considered work hours, only about 3 days of mornings or afternoons a week are expected in the office.

Pay

Our church leaders have set the pay for this job at $300 per week.

Handyman

We are needing someone part-time to do both regular maintenance and special projects around our buildings. We have 37,000+ square feet of buildings that were constructed over many decades. There are always things that need fixing and worked on. We are looking for someone who has a variety of handyman skills and the tools necessary to help us be a good steward of our church buildings.

Job Duties

  • Air Filters – ordering and changing air filters for the 28 air conditioning units in the church
  • Ceiling Tiles – replacing old tiles as needed
  • Lights – replacing ballasts and bulbs and possibly replacing whole fixtures with LED fixtures
  • Sheetrock repairs – occasional need for patch work, texturing and touch up paint
  • Plumbing – basic commode, faucet, and hot water heater work
  • Pilot Lights – maintaining a few gas units in the church
  • Door Stops – installing door stops and maintaining automatic closers
  • Trim – laying baseboards and door trim from time to time
  • The House – doing some basic maintenance of the church’s house to keep in functional shape
  • Drains – keeping a regular dose of bleach in drains to keep from clogging
  • Painting – Occasional painting of walls and ceilings
  • Other Duties as needed

Our leadership will keep a list of regular and special projects and help the handyman to prioritize the work to be done on any given week.

Hours

This job has been created by our leadership and is expected to average about 5 hours per week. Some weeks it might take more and some less. This will depend on the jobs needing to be done on any given week.

Pay

Our leadership has set the pay for this position at $15 per hour.
